Each Ultimag effervescent tablet contains:
Chelated magnesium 550 mg equivalent to 55 mg elemental magnesium
Chelated Zinc 33 mg equivalent to 5 mg elemental zinc

• Ultimag effervescent tablets are a pleasant lemon-flavoured drink when dissolved.
• Ultimag effervescent tablets do not contain sugar or an artificial colourant.

Dosage:
Adults: 1-2 Tablets daily
Children 1/2 - 1 Tablet daily

All minerals are inorganic and are only soluble in an acidic medium (pH of the stomach is 1-2) and becomes insoluble in pH greater than 7, they hydrolize to form insoluble precipitations. These precipitations attach to the mucous membrane of the intestines resulting in inhibition of the absorption of the mineral and other nutrients.

Chelation prevents the formation of insoluble precipitations allowing the mineral and other nutrients to pass through the mucous membrane of the intestines via active transport and passive diffusion.

Protection by the chelate is not absolute, at high pH levels, the metal will eventually hydrolize depending on the strength of the bonds between the metal and the amino-acid. The stronger the chelate bond, the higher the pH before the mineral will hydrolize. The ideal chelate will resist hydrolization at a pH 11 or higher.

Chelation enhances absorption ± 2.2 times.
