Lacteol Forte is unique in that it is the only lactobacillus, which is heat killed and freezedried. Lacteol Forte works by exclusion, it adheres to the brush border cells of the intestinal mucosa preventing pathogens from attaching, colonizing and drawing fluid. Lacteol Forte also stimulates the growth of acidogenic flora and the synthesis of IgA.

The advantages of Lacteol Forte are:

  • Lacteol Forte is heat killed and freeze dried and therefore does not need to be kept at 4°C

  • It can be prescribed for infants and patients with positive H.I.V. and immunodeficient patients

  • There is no risk of translocation of infection with Lacteol Forte unlike pro-biotics

  • There are no side effects from Lacteol Forte

  • Unlike pro-biotics, Lacteol Forte can be taken in conjunction with antibiotics and anti-fungals without being inactivated

  • Lacteol Forte does not harbour antibiotic resistance determinants unlike pro-biotics.
